Steam Issues - Cannot create steam library in Unraid share

Hey all,

 

I had created a gaming VM last week, and mapped a network share from my Unraid server, to store my steam library in. 

 

I'm not sure what has happened in between, however, steam seems to have disconnected from the library. When I try to add a new, or the existing library, steam throws up an error "new steam library folder must be writeable". 

 

I have tried playing with folder permissions, running steam as admin and many other suggestions on the web, all to no avail. 

 

I can write files to the share through OSX or Windows without any issues. 

 

Any ideas as to why steam is throwing up this error?

    Chrome (Android)
    1. Tap the lock icon next to the address bar.
    2. Tap Permissions → Notifications.
    3. Adjust your preference.
