May 20, 20215 yr I'll ask again... What's the unRAID driver 2.9.17? Just trying to understand things. I'd like to know what "md:" and "kernel:" mean as well?... I think I know the kernel is the "core" OS. What is "md:"? @etegration please remove your syslog file. (Or maybe a mod/admin could?) 6.

What is "md:" The UnRaid driver is the one that Limetech provide to handle array devices which when in use are mounted with names of the form /dev/mdX (where X corresponds to the disk number. ‘Kernel’ is the underlying Linux.
May 20, 20215 yr Thank you itimpl!... That makes perfect sense (drives can't "parity" themselves :)... I really hate to ask, but... what is, "md:"? If I said, "Enquiring minds want to know"... Would you laugh?... I don't know what "md:" is. Live and learn. 6.
