[SOLVED] PCIe AER Errors filling up log

Featured Replies

Everything works OK as the errors get corrected but the errors fill up the log in less than an hour or so after clearing/restarting.

Excerpt from the log:

May 16 13:36:22 NAS kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1b.4: device [8086:a2eb] error status/mask=00000001/00002000 May 16 13:36:22 NAS kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1b.4: [ 0] RxErr May 16 13:36:22 NAS kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1b.4: AER: Corrected error received: 0000:00:1b.4 May 16 13:36:22 NAS kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1b.4: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Physical Layer, (Receiver ID) May 16 13:36:22 NAS kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1b.4: device [8086:a2eb] error status/mask=00000001/00002000

I am using a SYBA SD-PEX40104 SATA 8-Port SATA III 6G PCI-E 2.0 x1 Card with an ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-G mobo.

Any help on solving this much appreciated.

This is usually caused by a PCIe device, it can be fixed by moving the offending device to a different PCIe slot, updating the bios or adding pci=nommconfto your syslinux.cfg after append initrd=/bzroot, so it would look like:

append initrd=/bzroot pci=nommconfto

Sorry, I didn't realize that was to a specific post. I have tried switching pci slots and the problem persists. I am trying to add the line "pci=nommconf" now will update afterwards.

Try also the above, if it doesn't help not much more you can do, other then using different hardware.

I added pci=nommconfto and so far (about a half an hour) the log is staying at 1%. Previously it would fill up to 8-9% within 5 minutes. I will mark as solved after letting it run a while longer. Thanks for your help!
