Transfer speeds starts fine but then slows to a crawl?

Featured Replies

Hi, moving data to my unraid server over gigabit lan.

I've tried from both qnap and from win10 with the same results.   Transfer starts fine at 105 MB/s but after a few minutes will slow to a crawl and show 1.04 MB/s or 710 KB/s

I can't figure out why?

If they start fast it rules out the network as it's fast while caching to RAM, are you transferring to array or cache? Turbo mode enable or disable? Diags might also give some clues.

Also (in addition to posting your diagnostics) what are the file sizes?  Every OS has a massive amount of overhead when writing tons of small files.
