How to use FTP Management Server like Wing FTP on Unraid?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I know that Unraid has an own FTP server by which the created users would be able to connect via FTP to their shares.

As this is not as adjustable (limits, quotas, monitoring) I would like to use/try out Wing which is applicable on Linux and therefore should be able to run directly on Unraid.

Now, I am not very familiar with Linux itself and think that Unraid is a Debian fork or not a "standard" Linux (whatever that means 😄) by which one could or should not install anything outside of the Unraid management platform in order to not destroy something (accidently).

Furthermore, I guess, there is a dependency of the shares which are managed by Unraid and Wing's own user specific share settings which should not interrupt each other.

Therefore, I am asking if you could give me a hint how to set this up and if this unfortunately would be only possible by using an additional VM?

Thanks in advance!
