Windows Repair

Featured Replies

My Windows VM crashed an is no longer operational. The machine hangs on a black loading screen or the Preparing Automatic Repair screen. How do I access Windows Repair to fix any corrupted system files that may be hanging the machine up?

Some additional info that I found this morning. I had a graphics card passed through as you can see in the xml but I switched graphics to VNC to see if that helped but also to view the boot process as nothing was being output through the graphics card. I made a new Ubuntu VM and tried assigning the removed graphics card removed from the Windows machine but VM starting the Ubuntu VM gives an execution error saying that the Windows machine is still using the PCI device.

I tried restarting the VM manager but now I get a Libvert service failed to start error. I didn't remove the autostart flag from the Windows VM which I wish I had done now.

I do have backups of my libvirt.img file from the CA Backup/Restore plugin and a VM backup from JTok's beta VM Backup plugin (plugin deleted last week so that image is slightly older.)
