In my country i just got pricing for 2 different drives but same size... (2TB)

 

WD Caviar Black 64 ... price 1500

Seagate Barracuda ST32000542AS, NCQ ... price 890

 

 

so do i buy 2 seagate's or 1 wd is there that big a difference to unRAID

any suggestions as to ease of use under 4.7 or configuration problems....?

The seagates will be fine.  Just set the partition formatting on the Settings page of the unRAID webGUI to MBR 4K aligned before adding them to the array.

Are the WD EARS or EADS available.  Or the Hitach 5K3000 (or 7K2000 or 7K3000).

 

I recommend any of those over the Seagate.  The WD blacks are great drives just pricey.
