March 10, 201115 yr I was hoping to use AOC-USAS2-L8e cards in a few servers but after trying it with the 5.0 betas I've pretty much decided to just give up on this card. Can anyone recommend a comparable card (same interface, etc) that is known to work well with unraid?

You should look at the AOC-SASLP-MV8, see this thread for a recent deal: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=11591.0;topicseen Regards, Stephen
March 14, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the recommendation! I tried one out in my test server over the weekend and it's working beautifully. As a note for anyone else who searches for AOC-USAS2-L8e here in the forums: Even though this card can be found dirt cheap on sale you're better off with a different card.
March 14, 201115 yr What problems were you encountering? v5 Betas now include mpt2sas drivers so the card should work at the basic level (read/write and temperature). What isn't working yet is spin control. I believe Limetech is looking at rewriting ioctl to support sas controllers. On a related note, I am testing an LSI SAS9201-16i and it uses the mpt2sas driver, functioning as above. Regards, Peter
March 14, 201115 yr Author unraid would simply lockup during the parity sync process. I'd have to physically restart the server. At first I though it was just a bad card but when I tried a second one the same thing happened. I tried it with several different betas as well and got the same results.
