AOC-USAS2-L8e

Featured Replies

I was hoping to use AOC-USAS2-L8e cards in a few servers but after trying it with the 5.0 betas I've pretty much decided to just give up on this card.

Can anyone recommend a comparable card (same interface, etc) that is known to work well with unraid?

You should look at the AOC-SASLP-MV8, see this thread for a recent deal:

Thanks for the recommendation! I tried one out in my test server over the weekend and it's working beautifully.

As a note for anyone else who searches for AOC-USAS2-L8e here in the forums: Even though this card can be found dirt cheap on sale you're better off with a different card.

What problems were you encountering?  v5 Betas now include mpt2sas drivers so the card should work at the basic level (read/write and temperature).  What isn't working yet is spin control.  I believe Limetech is looking at rewriting ioctl to support sas controllers.  On a related note, I am testing an LSI SAS9201-16i and it uses the mpt2sas driver, functioning as above.

unraid would simply lockup during the parity sync process. I'd have to physically restart the server.  At first I though it was just a bad card but when I tried a second one the same thing happened. I tried it with several different betas as well and got the same results.
