March 11, 201115 yr ...running unRAID inside a VM on a proxmox host...that's what you mean, right? Proxmox supports KVM and OpenVZ virtualization. Here's what I know/tried: AFAIK, OpenVZ will not do (although slackware containers can be done) because reiserfs is not supported/available inside the container. unRAID in a KVM-based VM cannot be achieved in a 1-2-3-finish fashion. USB support is not that mature in KVM and not officially supported in proxmox. You could do with a customized, slackware based install of unRAID and mount your flash as a raw device. Using raw-device mappings is not a problem with kvm or proxmox. I really love proxmox and I am looking into such a setup for long but I decided to wait for proxmox 2.0 It should come with LXC and KVM with better USB support later this year (approx 2nd quarter)
