Slow read speeds

Featured Replies

I am getting slow read speeds when using Plex and transferring files.

It started when I downloaded a ~10gb movie and wanted to watch it on plex. As soon as it imported I started it using firefox with the local ip address for plex. Within the first minute it would stop and buffer. I stopped the stream and the tried copying it to my local machine. Read speeds from unraid to my local system were between 0 to 3.5mbps. It eventually errored out after 15 min and gave a windows file copy error. At 7 or so min I disabled all the dockers and it still failed at the 15 min mark.

I have noticed that a reboot will fix the issue, but with nothing but the array and smb up I would expect faster transfer speeds. Over WIFI I can download from Microsoft at 8.5Mbps, so wifi is not the issue.

You can test your network speeds with iperf3. The Windows version is free to download and the Linux version for Unraid can be installed using the Nerd Tools plugin.
