March 12, 201115 yr I finally managed to finish my guide for setting up a distributed incremental & encrypted backup. The idea is to be able to perform backups on remote unRAID servers. Encryption is used to make sure your private data is safe even when saved to a friend's place. The system is based upon: chroot sftp using public keys authentication for automatic login duplicity for the incremental & encrypted backup part (based on rsync, rdiff and gnupg) duply script which is a wrapper for duplicity The guide can be found here: http://danynativel.com/blog/2012/01/03/distributed-encrypted-backup-between-unraid-machines/ Please note that the remote server doesn't have to be an unRAID one. Duplicity supports all kind of backend servers including Amazon S3: ftp hsi cf+http imap imaps rsync s3 s3+http scp ssh tahoe webdav webdavs Please report your experience. Alphazo
