June 18, 20215 yr Hi all! I'm hoping for some help with an issue that I've been having for several years now! 1-4 times a day - seemingly at random times - disk usage spikes to 100% for no apparent reason. It doesn't appear to be linked to inbound or outbound network traffic. And I don't use the SSD cache pool to temporarily store files either, so I don't think it's the mover. And whilst the disks are at 100% the system essentially locks up. All Docker containers don't work, Plex freezes, and even the unRAID GUI is slow to access. Also, rather oddly the GUI shows CPU usage at 100%, but htop shows it idling (see screenshot). I am currently on unRAID 6.8.3, but this issue has persisted across many releases. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could try stopping some of your Docker containers for a while and seeing if the activity stops. You should be able to isolate the culprit that way. Or you could install the Open Files plugin to see what application is accessing what files. Alternatively, your diagnostics might show what's happening.
July 2, 20215 yr Tagging along, I have this exact same issue that recently started. I have a separate thread that I started today.
