Hi Guys,

 

Just want to double check before making the changes. I got a red ball next to a hard drive, tried to run a SMART test but it said an error about the connection. Searching through the forum I found it's probably a loose cable. Re-plugged in the cable, ran the SMART test and everything is fine.

 

What is the proper procedure to restart the array using that same hard drive in the same place?

Assign the disk to the correct slot and fire it up.

The drive has been disabled. You need to do the following:

 

Stop the array

Unassign the drive in the devices page

Start the array - the drive contents should be available via the magic of parity

Stop the array

Reassign the drive in the devices page

Start the array and instruct unRAID to reconstruct the contents onto the drive
