How Spinup/Format a precleared USB-Device?

I'm not quiet sure where to place that question. Is it a Preclear, Unassigned Devices or Unraid problem?

 

I did attach an USB-Device to my Unraid Server 6.9.2 with latest releases attached. I did preclear that device. After the successful preclear the Format button appeared.

 

After half an hour, that's my spindown time, the USB-Device became spindown. Now all buttons are inaccessible. I can't press the Format button. I can't press the spinup button. I can't do anything with that device - except powerdown and remove.

 

Is that working as designed or is this something that should be fixed?
