June 28, 20215 yr Hello, I am having some problems when trying to make any system changes to unraid. This seems to be happening across all services like VM, Dockers, Disks ,etc. I think it might be tied to this read-only error I recently noticed: Jun 28 15:08:53 VRAID root: cp: cannot create regular file '/boot/config/secrets.tdb': Read-only file system Jun 28 15:08:55 VRAID root: Starting Samba: /usr/sbin/smbd -D Jun 28 15:08:55 VRAID root: /usr/sbin/nmbd -D Jun 28 15:08:55 VRAID smbd[29722]: [2021/06/28 15:08:55.206255, 0] ../../lib/util/become_daemon.c:135(daemon_ready) Jun 28 15:08:55 VRAID smbd[29722]: daemon_ready: daemon 'smbd' finished starting up and ready to serve connections Jun 28 15:08:55 VRAID root: /usr/sbin/wsdd Jun 28 15:10:03 VRAID emhttpd: error: put_disk_settings, 3626: Read-only file system (30): fopen: /boot/config/disk.cfg Jun 28 15:10:03 VRAID kernel: mdcmd (41): set md_num_stripes 1280 Jun 28 15:10:03 VRAID kernel: mdcmd (42): set md_queue_limit 80 Jun 28 15:10:03 VRAID kernel: mdcmd (43): set md_sync_limit 5 Jun 28 15:10:03 VRAID kernel: mdcmd (44): set md_write_method 1 Jun 28 15:10:48 VRAID root: cp: cannot create regular file '/boot/config/secrets.tdb': Read-only file system Jun 28 15:10:50 VRAID root: Starting Samba: /usr/sbin/smbd -D Jun 28 15:10:50 VRAID root: /usr/sbin/nmbd -D Jun 28 15:10:50 VRAID smbd[31733]: [2021/06/28 15:10:50.087406, 0] ../../lib/util/become_daemon.c:135(daemon_ready) Jun 28 15:10:50 VRAID smbd[31733]: daemon_ready: daemon 'smbd' finished starting up and ready to serve connections Jun 28 15:10:50 VRAID root: /usr/sbin/wsdd I have also upload my Hardware Profile. June 28, 20215 yr Community Expert Those message indicate that the flash drive is currently read only. You could try plugging it into a PC/Mac to run a check on it. It is possible it is about to fail so do you have a recent backup?
June 28, 20215 yr Author I'm backing up my stuff now. Just to double check when I plug into a pc I should be running Windows "error Checking" correct?

For the purposes of this particular error, the most important would be to get a copy of the config folder on the USB flash drive, or a full flash backup. https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Changing_The_Flash_Device#Overview
June 29, 20215 yr Author This seems to be resolved! I have some other small errors now buy I can manage services now. Thanks!
