March 15, 201115 yr I have had my unraid running for about a year, and have always been able to access it using an ip address. It would show up even with the drives spun down. Now when I reboot, it can be found while it is rebuilding and checking parity, but it seems that when the drives spin down I can no longer access the server using the ip address. Does anyone have an idea of where to check. I have looked at BIOS settings for wake on lan settings, and don't find any settings.
March 15, 201115 yr We are going to need a syslog to be of much/any help. Also, give us a full list of the hardware you are using please

Right off, you should never have to rebuild or check parity after a normal power down or reboot. What are you doing to cause this? Have you tried to ping it or telnet to it? You will have to capture a syslog, probably during the time the network is lost, for anyone to be able to help you. Peter
