Combining Unraid with my Gaming PC

Featured Replies

Hello, I am interested possibly putting Unraid on my main gaming pc and running Windows 10 as a VM as my daily driver. I saw Linus Tech Tips video on this (abeit a pretty old video:

Use your Gaming PC's Extra Power as a NAS Ultimate Guide

Now the specs of my current rig is as follows:

Case: Fractal Design Define C

Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X370F Gaming

CPU: Ryzen 7 1700

Ram: 32 GB DDR4 @ 1333Mhz

GPU: EVGA Geforce RTX 2070 Super

I'm interested to see how this would work out. Plus this could allow me in theory to have 2 seperate Unraid servers. Is this feasible with my current setup, or would I need to have an intel system or make some other hardware modification?

Thanks

I'm also intrigued by this.  Has anyone done this successfully?  Is it actually usable?  Is it just a constant struggle of problems and annoying performance issues?
