July 12, 20214 yr Hello, I'm new to using unraid and I've just setup a system on 6.9.2 with secondhand drives. Everything started fine but I noticed disk 5 had a lot of read errors during the parity setup. I also tried to run a SMART test on the parity drive which is being reported as failed. I'm very new to all of this so I was just curious if anyone can tell anything from my diagnostics and whether or not I should replace these disks. Sorry if I've missed anything relevant. tower-diagnostics-20210711-2156.zip
July 12, 20214 yr Community Expert Parity and disk5 have both failed long test and should not be used. Looks like you probably don't have any data on disk5 yet. appdata and system shares have files on the array instead of all on cache, probably because you started docker before cache was installed. We can deal with that after you get your array stable. In the meantime, disable docker. Complete long test on all other disks and post new diagnostics.
July 13, 20214 yr Author Thanks for the advice. I have disabled Docker and finished long tests on the other 4 disks. I have a new disk I can use for the parity drive now as well assuming everything else checks out. tower-diagnostics-20210712-2131.zip
