Hard drive not getting an ID

Featured Replies

I'm running into a strange issue I haven't seen before. I added a few unassigned drives and one of my other ones just disapeared after a reboot and won't show up anymore. It was showing up fine before, and even still shows under SCSI devices.

[7:0:7:0]	disk ATA ST2000LX001-1RG1 SDM1 /dev/sdk -

I get this error in the syslog:

Jul 11 21:14:26 Gunhaver emhttpd: device /dev/sdk problem getting id
Jul 11 21:14:26 Gunhaver emhttpd: device /dev/sdk problem getting id

It seems like it was working until I deleted the partition on it using the tool from Unassigned Devices...

Try connecting it to the onboard SATA controller instead.
