Hitachi 1 TB Drive

Featured Replies

Recently upgraded my basic system with 1 TB Sata HDs.  The first hd installed correctly and I am using it.  The second drive that I tried to upgrade still says upgrading after five (5) days.  I am running 4.6 with hopes of upgrading to 4.7.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's good.  Yes, followed the same procedure I previously used on the first disk upgrade.  When I upgraded the first disk from 500 GB to 1 TB it only took four (4) days.  This process has been running for approx seven (7) days.  Please note...the drives used are identical 1 TB Hitachi drives.

I will still be thankful for a meaningful or helpful suggestions, jokes are ok to.

Did you post the system log last time?  You should this time.

There is absolutely no reason for the very long process time, unless something un-expected has occurred.  It almost sounds as if one of your drives is in PIO mode instead of DMA mode.  That would slow it WAY down.  (The syslog will tell us)

Thank you.  Will post that info when I return home this pm.

Wasn't trying to be funny. Some of the unRaid messages imply it is doing something versus saying it will do it when the array is started.  Several people waited long periods of time before realizing they needed to click start.

Sorry if I offended :)
