Dradder1 Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 Hello All, I have an array of disks with one parity drive. Parity is 10TB and the array is mostly 10TB's with a few 8's. Recently had some issues and am adding 14TB as second parity. That's building now. Question I have since Parity 1 is 10TB and Parity 2 will be 14TB do I lose the extra 4TB? After this was done rebuilding my plan is to upgrade Parity 1 to 14TB but my concern is if Parity 2 shows up as 10TB will both parity drives not be using full capacity if I go through with my plan? Thanks Quote
itimpi Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 The full size of the drives is always used. You just will not be able to add any data drives that are larger than the smallest parity drive. Quote
Dradder1 Posted July 22, 2021 Author Posted July 22, 2021 That's good to know. I plan to have both parity drives at 14TB and once that 's done will add a 14 and some 12's. Thanks! Quote
