Machine Check Events error

Featured Replies

I had this message ("Machine Check Events detected on your server" "Your server has detected hardware errors.") pop up in Common Problems and was told to post my diagnostics here to get some advice. Anything I need to worry about or look at fixing?

Without wishing to hijack this post, I also had exactly the same error:

Jun 22 16:24:47 FoxServer kernel: smpboot: CPU0: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1240 v5 @ 3.50GHz (family: 0x6, model: 0x5e, stepping: 0x3) Jun 22 16:24:47 FoxServer kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: Machine check events logged Jun 22 16:24:47 FoxServer kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: CPU 0: Machine Check: 0 Bank 0: b200000000030005 Jun 22 16:24:47 FoxServer kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: TSC 0 Jun 22 16:24:47 FoxServer kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: PROCESSOR 0:506e3 TIME 1624375468 SOCKET 0 APIC 0 microcode e2 Jun 22 16:24:47 FoxServer kernel: Performance Events: PEBS fmt3+, Skylake events, 32-deep LBR, full-width counters, Intel PMU driver.

Perhaps there is some commonality?

Yours is benign and happens with certain hardware combinations during processor initialization.  Ignore it
