Changed physical HDD location, now Unraid says all are missing

Featured Replies

1. My HDD enclosure went bad so none of my drives were showing up (Just a 4 disk USB 3.0 enclosure)

2. I am now running PCIe > SATA and all are recognized in BIOS and Unraid

3. The SN's have changed according to Unraid so I can't re-start my device

4. One of the drives may have actually gone bad during this time

Any thoughts on why the Serial Numbers would have changed so Unraid doesn't think they are the correct drive, when in fact, they are the same physical drive.

This is one of the reasons we don't recommend USB enclosures, they usually don't pass the correct serials, if parity is still valid there might be a way out, please post current diagnostics.

Yep, that makes sense!

So I did have one drive go bad during this, so I am just doing "New Config" which shockingly worked great! I can't see anything lost yet even though I removed that faulty drive, and it's rebuilding my parity now.

That's good, FYI there was a way to possibly also recover any data on the failed disk, but because you're rebuilding parity that's no longer possible.

Are you sure you assigned the correct disk to parity slot?
