Here's my process:

 

I use Total Commander

 

1) Open the destination share in the right side pane (movies or tv)

2) Copy file from download folder in cache drive to the destination

3) Wait for the mover to run

 

The whole thing works great. The only issue is when I perform step 1 and the array disks are not spinning, sometimes the share will open right away and allow me to copy to the that share. Other times (this morning), two of the disks spun up when I clicked the movies share.

 

Before posting the thread, I just went to move some more files from a local disk to the server. All disks were spun down, and I was able to open the tv share without any delay, nor did any of the disks spin up.

 

What am I doing wrong that forces spinup sometimes, and no spinup other times?
