Seagate Barracuda LP ST32000542AS $69.99

Going by the Newegg reviews, I wouldn't touch this drive with a stick. Almost half of them are 3 eggs or below with 157 out of 563 being 1 egg. That's just terrible, no wonder it's cheap.

If can survive 3 or 4 preclears I'll trust it. Even with the exchanges for failures its still a good price.

I have one of these and I have had no issues with it. Like most hard drives you get good and bad lots. The warranty on the drive and the companies RMA program are the important factors when buying a hard drive.

I would by this drive again if the price was right and I needed another.

No code needed. 69.99 delivered.

It's also the same price at AMazon. Only you can get free two day shipping if you have a Prime membership.

I know this year I purchased several used drives from Amazon Warehouse deals for around $67 that gave me a longer warranty than the ones I got this year from Newegg. All my Newegg drives were manufactured between June and August, while all the ones I got from Amazon warehouse deals and new were manufactured in Novmeber/December.

And Seagate starts the warranty from the manufacture date, not the purchase date. The five I got from Best Buy this year were also from November/December but they have a five year warranty since they are the retail versions and they also had the CC95 firmware.
