Drive Failing After a Few Weeks?

Featured Replies

Hi!

I have a hard drive that fails after a few weeks of running. I would rebuild onto that same drive and it would fail again. I moved the drive to different slots to test if it was a connection on the backplane but no matter what slot I try it still fails. I tried looking through the smart report but I am not super familiar with them. Any help would be great.

Thanks!

It must have disconnected, as you can see it has a different sdX identifier than in your screenshot and so diagnostics doesn't consider it assigned to the array.

SMART for that disk looks OK. You need to figure out why it won't stay connected.

Got it. I will reconnect and post again. Any ideas why it could be disconnecting?
