Reduce size of drives to fit parity drive

Featured Replies

G'day

I want to use an Intel S4610 480GB as my parity drive paired with 2x 870 evo 500GB for my new SSD array.
The problem is obvious the parity drive to too small. However I can live with sacrificeing 40GB. The plan so far was to convince unraid to "forget" the 20GB of space on each drive and only use the rest. The initial idea was to use partitions but I was unable to implement this.

My question now does someone know a possible solution for this project? I am at my wits end, hence the post ^^
Anyways thx for any suggestion.

Use one of the evos as parity and the intel as the 2nd data disk.

Note that SSDs in the array can't be trimmed.

Thx for the fast replay.

From your answere I deduce my initial idea is simply not doable atleast currently.

Anyway thx and have a nice evening/morning/day ^^
