March 22, 201115 yr Has anyone been able to run fail2ban for monitoring ssh connections on unRAID? I've seen a Slackware package but on the other hand fail2ban relies on iptables which is not part of unRAID. Any recommendation? Thanks Alphazo
May 30, 201313 yr I also would like to know this If you're thinking of SSH connections specifically then why not use DenyHosts? There is already a plugin for it.
June 5, 201313 yr unRAID is never designed to be secure to access via internet. If you really want to access to unRAID via internet, I recommend you setup a VPN on your router... this will be much secure than securing the unRAID.
December 1, 201411 yr Sometimes you cannot VPN through some firewalls but they will allow a SSH session. I would like to see a fail2ban plugin or at least an updated Denyhosts.

June 14, 20206 yr I would like to implement fail2ban as well, on both the ssh and my openVPN docker. Does anybody have any guidelines ? I have not managed to find any. Best, OP

Any guidance on how to setup Fail2ban as a standalone feature, would be very much welcomed.
