August 12, 20214 yr Hi all, I have an issue where my Unraid server becomes unresponsive in the GUI and I am unable to ping it or connect in any way (SSH or otherwise). The two CAT6 cables connected show link lights on the switch and the mobo. The SSD and HDD's are brand new, and the mobo/CPU are brand new. I have swapped out the SATA cables as well and have not noticed any changes. I have attached my diagnostics and syslog to this post. Thanks, drevil unnas-syslog-20210812-1828.zip unnas-diagnostics-20210812-1327.zip
August 12, 20214 yr Community Expert I have split your post into its own topic. Best to start your own thread instead of taking another user's thread unless you want to help with that user. Also, that other thread had already been marked solved. For future reference, diagnostics already includes syslog since reboot so no need to attach it separately.
August 12, 20214 yr Community Expert Do you have an attached monitor and keyboard? Does it appear to only be a problem over the network, or is the server not working at all?
August 12, 20214 yr Author I have an attached monitor, but the entire server appears to become unresponsive.
August 12, 20214 yr Author Let me get this straight. As a result of having a Ryzen 1600x, Unraid could be locking up OR my memory is clocked too high (I don't overclock any components). However, I have to throttle my RAM to 1866 Mhz as a result of my CPU being Ryzen 1st Gen and all 4 slots being populated? AND I will have to upgrade my CPU to 3rd Gen if I want to utilize the full capability of my RAM assuming the RAM doesn't have any problems? (I will run memtest to verify once my parity-check finishes...which will take a while) Please confirm I am understanding this correctly. -drevil
