Scheduled Parity Checks vs unscheduled Parity Checks

Featured Replies

This question has 3 parts,...

1) I have UnRaid set to run parity checks once a m0onth on the first day of the month. So why is it running parity checks more often than that? )sometimes every several days)

2) If I want to set my UnRaid to run parity checks on a quarterly basis on the first Sunday of the month (ie. Jan 1, Apr 1, July1, Oct 1) How would I adjust the settings? When I tried that it wound up doing it on the first Sunday of the month, every month.

3) When I load files onto my UnRaid server is the parity adjusted on my two parity drives at the same time?

I appreciate the help..

1) If you have an unclean shutdown, you will always get a parity check on bootup.

also

2) Set the Scheduled parity check to Custom, Day of the week to Sunday, Week of the month to First, then check the months in Month of the Year

3) Yes, both parity is always realtime, any write operation (write, delete, copy, move, format) to any array disk updates parity at the same time.
