spikes2020
I just added 16 new drives via a PCI rack in the back of my server. My main server is SSDs so i really didn't notice them not spinning down or not till i added this rack. The rack came with drives of all different sizes and types. Some drives spin down and others do not. I have 4 drives that wont spin down. They are ST400NM0023 and **62 drives. They have not been added to any share, but are in the array. I had the SAS spin down AP and thought that might be causing the problem so i uninstalled it. I try and manually spend them down and they don't. Right after i manually spin them down without the app i get the following emhttpd: spinning down /dev/sdp But the drive is still on.... When i had the SAS spin down app it would go SAS Assist: Spinning down device /dev/sdp emhttpd: "emhttpd read smart" /dev/sdp emhttpd: spinning down /dev/sdp This would repeat over and over, every 30 min.... So they wont spin down manually and wont auto spin down, they aren't in an share, i removed almost all my APs and all my dockers are turned off, honestly nothing is running as this is a new server.... Some sas drives spin down, while these do not.... https://prnt.sc/1o6vk3i https://prnt.sc/1o6vupb Edited August 13, 2021 by spikes2020 Quote Link to comment
