[Solved] Way to Get UnRaid to pull IP Address from OpnSense/PfSense in VM inside UnRaid?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

So my router died and it seems to be out of stock everywhere. I wanted to know if there's a way for PfSense/OpnSense are able to hand out DHCP addresses to UnRaid running in a VM on Unraid.

I know that UnRaid is going to try and get the address before the VMs are mounted but I was hoping there was a work around to this.

I did a static but for some reason I can route to everything else on the subnet, just not unraid.

Tried unplugging the network cable, rebooting the switch, etc.

I figure it out. While UnRaid was had a static IP, the bridge was bonded to the wrong nic.

In the network config file it was bonded to eth2 and needed to be bonded to eth0 has eth1 and eth2 are being passed through to the OpnSense VM.

How exactly did u set it up? How many NIC's u have?

Did u unplug the main access to ur unraid server and just routed everything thru the bridge to your opnsense LAN interface?
