What do you see on the monitor when you try to boot?

  • Author

the server will go though post and try to boot to unraid screen will flash black then it try the rest of the boot order. it will do the same thing if i select the usb from the onetime boot menu.

So it doesn't actually boot to Unraid boot menu? Why do you even have anything else in the boot order?

How did you prepare the other flash drive that you tried?

  • Author

no boot menu, i dont have anything in the boot order. the second one i prepared i tried the unraid flash tool(ran as admin) that didn't work then tried the manual method of extracting the zip renaming the usb drive to "UNRAID" and ran the make bootabel .bat file as admin. the first drive that worked for a while was made with the flash tool

Is the folder on flash named EFI (must be for UEFI boot) and not EFI- ?

  • Community Expert

Are you booting from USB2 port? USB2 is more reliable for this.
