Huh, just randomly checked my settings and noticed that the backups aren't pruning. 

 

 

They're set to ten days but so far I have multiple years available at this point. 

Does anybody have solution for traefik proxy ? In app I get the connection icon switching on and off all the time. It does not affect the app or listening as far as I noticed but its annoying to see it.

I've been experiencing this.  Seemed to start happening within the last 2 weeks or so.  It's definitely not every day, but its maybe once every 2-3 days.  Completely unresponsive until I restart the container and the logs have told me nothing.

i setup a daily reboot of the docker with the user scripts plugin. fun fact the container rebooted while i was listening and it didnt even miss a beat.

A bit surprising that did not come up yet, but I had permission issues of files written by ABS (644 owned by root) and access them via SMB.
 

--user=99:100

as extra parameters did the trick and now it writes as nobody:users owner

I had to fix apppdata permissions once:

chown nobody:users appdata/audiobookshelf -R

1) is there somewhere I can donate for your efforst?

2) Doesn't seem like I can delete the 'root' user. Once I create a different full admin user, is there any reason I'd ever need the ROOT user again? Does it have any persmissions a new 'admin' user does not? If not, I'm just going to change the password to something ridiculous and  never worrry about it (I'm sharing ABS publicly via NGINX).

The root user cannot be deleted. It is only special in that
a) it can't be updated by other admin users

b) it is the only account that can be configured to not have a password

 

This is for v2.14.0 and below incase it changes in the future

Question: I recently added a path for podcasts so that they are separate from my audiobooks. However, I noticed that when I update ABS the path disappears. I have to manually add it back. 

 

Has anyone else noticed this?

Seems I have forgotten my password for audiobookshelf... Any way to retrieve this ?

Im having an issue with connecting to the server from the Shelfplayer app ( same issue from the Prolouge beta wit ABS support).

Message: Audiobookshelf server not found.

 

Im trying to accsess it with http://<LOCAL_IP>:<PORT> ( exampel: http://192.168.1.20:13378 )

 

It works via Safari (browser).

And if i connect via Tailscale to my unraid that has a subnet (192.168.1.20/32) setup to accsess server ip it works. 

But not on my local LAN on wifi from the IOS Iphone. Wierd?

 

i have no reverse proxy och firewall rules or anything like that setup.

Just using plain local IP trying to connect to it.

I've forgotten my password as well and cant figure out how to edit the sqlite database in a way that lets me back in

Nevermind. I figured out how to properly set a NULL value.

edit: Good news.. I figured it out.. just edited library in the webui and added the proper directory structure then deleted old library folder:

I installed it.. It worked localnetwork.. But wouldn't connect from outside the network.. eventually i deleted the docker.. ran appdata cleanup, and reinstalled.. on the 2nd install i changed 1 thing.. i put the audiobook in docker template directory one directory up in the folder structure, in case i wanted to add other directories such as podcasts or other audiobook libraries.. 

Now it won't see any of the folder structures.

Also it appears that maybe it kept some of the previous data from first install? 

Or i messed up the data folder path?

hi all Ive installed audiobook shelf on unraid 6.12.14 but I cant open the web ui to finish the setup when I click on open web ui it opens the "main" unraid tab ive checked the logs and it dosnt tell me any thing how do I continue?

Change the container port to 80. Then switch to advanced view in the top right,where you see webui change the port to 13378 and apply.

thanks for your help I did try this but with no luck, I don't doubt its user error.  but Ive taken the opportunity to uninstall the app then updated to v7 then reinstalled the app this seams to have fixed the problem 

Love this project for Audiobooks and epub files, is there a way to extract the cover from PDF's? Would love to use this for my PDF collection also! thanks

I have been using audio bookshelf for a little bit and loving it but all of a sudden having issues with it.  The server keeps crashing on me and I don't know why.  I thought maybe a file was corrupt so deleted the file and downloaded a new copy and copied it in and verify I could play file locally without issue.  I couldn't get it to find the file on rescan so I deleted the library and re-added it but only got like 8 files to load which was a far cry from what I was expected.  So I deleted it all and started over.  I got everything added back in a believe.  I tried the file in the browser and it works fine but when I try shelf player on iOS it crashes the server again.  I have been using shelf player for a while and even using it earlier without issue.  I tried using plappa on iOS and it plays fine too.  I checked and shelf player had an update but it was like a month or 2 ago.

 

I grab this from the log file

 

Also when I tried to search for a book in abs it crashes.  

 

Note besides a handful I have been using Libation to download from audible and importing them into audiobook shelf.

I have the same issue on my side. Worked fine until yesterday. Dont remember if the app automatically updated but I personally didnt change anything
