August 20, 20214 yr Hi all, I have been using unraid for a while with no issues it seams, until today when trying to transfer approximately 250gb of video files to a folder. It tells me that (Windows PC) that I do not have enough space yet on the dash (tower) its shows I have over 3.36tb free. Any ideas hat I have done wrong here? P.S. I am a total newbie at this, so I apologies beforehand if I have messed something up here!!! tower-diagnostics-20210820-1111.zip
August 20, 20214 yr Community Expert Each user share has a Minimum Free setting. You should set that to larger than the largest file you expect to write to the share. Unraid has no way to know how large a file will become when it chooses a disk for it. If a disk has less than Minimum Free, it will choose another disk. If a disk has more than Minimum Free, the disk can be chosen and if the file won't fit the write will fail. Cache (and other pools) also has a Minimum Free setting that works in a similar manner. If the pool has less than Minimum Free, Unraid will choose an array disk instead for cache-yes and cache-prefer shares (overflow).
