Volume Label ERROR in "make_bootable.bat" while creating my USB bootable

Featured Replies

Hi!

I follow exactly all the steps to make my 4GB Scandisk Cruzer USB a bootable one (with Win7 & even with it's Windows XP Mode), but when I right-click on the file 'make_bootable' and select 'Run as administrator' a DOS windows is opened, gives me the Volume name (it is UNRAID, all in capital letters as I read in the instructions) and the Volume Serial Number and finally gives me that Error:

Error: volume label must be UNRAID

Press any key to continue...

What does I make wrong? I tried with another USB and the same Error. I downloaded the 4.6 and test it without success. I can't do oi even with my laptop.

I can't believe it. Is there any other way to make the USB bootable?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried reformatting the USB drive to a different name, restarting your windows PC, and then reformatting it again back to UNRAID?

Yes, I've tried with Quick & Long Format. I've tried even with the "HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool". Nothing. What's wrong?

Any other Easy Way to create a Bootable USB? I can't believe I'd not use Unraid for this reason.... :(

SOLVED removig U3 utility in the USB and using Syslinux.exe. Thanks to all. Continue with the Unraid configuration process. :)
