Help: UnRaid and Torrents

Featured Replies

One of the reason I picked UnRaid from other solutions is because of the community

so here i am hoping someone can shed some light...

I'm using a Lian-Li PC-A04B (m-ATX case)

http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=561&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=63&g=spec

It can accommodate 7x 3.5 hard disk via its own racks

and 2x 3.5 drive bays which i am hoping to put a 3 in 2 rack

to cut the story short my case can accommodate 10 hard disk max

i want to use Transmission BitTorrent Client but i am not sure if its advisable to store the unfinished downloads to the data disk

I know having a cache disk is ideal but i am unsure if i am willing to part with one more data drive just for a cache drive.

Please help.

Thanks a lot.

You can use a disk in the array, or even a UserShare I believe, but the disks in use an the parity disk would NEVER spin down.  It is the main reason a cache drive is used for this type of application.

I have an old 100GB 7200 RPM  PATA 2½" disk mounted through SNAP that I intend to use for this purpose. Something like that could probably fit in somewhere in your case without taking up a 3½" slot or SATA port...
