How do I add an SMB share to binhex-Plexpas docker container?

Featured Replies

I'm migrating my Windows plex server to binhex-plexpass. I thought moving my metadata folder over had worked, but I was just seeing my Windows plex server still. It didn't take any of the 88gb of metadata I spent 40 hours zipping up and moving to the docker container. Really annoying.

Now since I have to redo everything I'm trying to add my SMB shares I have on my Synology 918+. I created a user for unraid to use, gave it read access to my shares on my 918+, I searched, found, added, and mounted one of the remote shares in unraid, but I can't get my binhex-plexpass to use the share when I add it to the library. I've tried adding it via the share name like I had in my Windows plex server, I've tried adding as the /mnt/remotes/Share mountpath (When I browse /mnt there isn't a "remotes" folder, but if I click on the share I mounted the path is /mnt/remotes/Share. I even tried looking at the binhex-plexpass settngs to see if I could add it through there, but no luck.

I'm sure this is something simple that I'm missing.

You don't really mention mapping. Do you understand docker volume mapping? You can't access any path on the host from within a container unless you map it.

I do not understand that. I'm new to all of this. I've been trying to look up how to do it but I'm not really familiar with it enough to know what to look for. I thought there was a way in the docker settings or it's config file to set up mappings when you start the container, but I can't figure out how to se it up.

I came across this post as well.

I'll have to do some more research. I screwed up my Docker trying to get the metadata moved in so I blew the whole thing away and will try again tomorrow. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that. I just can't get the metadata to get picked up with my server so I'm going to have to build it from scratch again. Annoying but not the end of the world.

I seem to be getting mixed results, can I have both servers up at the same time? OR will that screw things up? I have plexpass but it's giving me very strange behavior when I have both servers up and running.
