My Servers Remote access + security best practice

Featured Replies

Hi,

According the Limetech best practice was not to set a public reverse proxy to Unraid WebUI.

However with the My Servers plugin you do the same?

What was changed that makes it now secure?

Reverse proxies are difficult to get right. There are a few "recipes" in the forum but they have a lot of manual steps that require some understanding of what you are doing. Also, there are different ways to do it and they can muck with the url and the webgui in ways we can't predict. So we can't exactly support a "roll your own reverse proxy" environment. If you know what you are doing and don't mind being "unsupported" (because we don't test the webgui for this) then you might be able to do it.
