Which PCIe 4x 4 Port SATA Card?

Featured Replies

Since the BR10i didn't work in my 4x slot on my P5B-VM DO, I'm in need of a 4 Port PCIe that will work in a 4x PCIe slot to complete my 20 Drives (I used a eSATA to SATA cable back into my case for my Cache Drive.

I'd like to not have to spend another $100, but willing to hear my best options

I guess the other option would be to stick my PCI AOC-SAT2-MV8 back in and connect 4 drives... When I had it filled with 8 drives the Parity check time was DAYS, but for the most part I think my data speeds were acceptable otherwise.

Adaptec 1430sa.  Definitely works in the x4 slot of a P5B VM DO with the SASLP in the x16 slot.  Ran that way for well over a year.  I think there is a slightly cheaper Rosewill from Newegg.  I have never used that one, though, so can't swear it works.  But I think the chipset is the same so don't know any reason it would not work.

I'm using the Rosewill card:

It works great.  I basically get the same speeds with it as I do with on-board SATA.
