Unknown High Log Utilization after 9 Days Uptime (SOLVED)

Featured Replies

Posted

My current server up time is only 9 days 8 hours with 51% Log Utilization. Looking at the log file and nothing would explain this.  I'm running the following.

Supermicro - X9DR3-F
Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2670 0 @ 2.60GHz
32 GB DDR3 Multi-bit ECC
500 GB SSD Catch Pool

Can anyone give me some ideas and point me in the right direction in correcting this issue going forward?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Sep 2 18:46:08 Pegasus nerdpack: Installing atop-2.2 package...

This is known to do that, uninstall it.

Thank you sir, I'll uninstall it and see if that helps.  Thanks again!

You can monitor if the log keeps growing. But to get back to a normal usage you will have to reboot.

Thanks, I'm aware that a reboot will be necessary to reset the usage back to zero. Right now I think the next step is to wait at least a day or so to see if the uninstall of atop was causing the original log growth.

Thank you for the input on my issue.

Looks like the above suggestions have made a great improvement. I did a reboot a few days ago and just checked the log usage is only 5%.

Thanks for your help with this issue..
