Hello Everyone, I am new here. I am having issues booting my unraid sever. The sever has been set up previously to this issue and restarted before. For some reason I can see my thumb stick in the boot list as the primary and only boot device but when I boot nothing happens. My specs are below.

 

I have tried:

 

• Resetting the BIOS
• Other USB ports (only on mb)

 

Are you using UEFI boot?  If so rename the EFI- directory to EFI on your USB.

@Gragorg yes believe I am using UEFI. How do I rename the file? I can't see the file. 

 

But my partition manager shows that there are files there

 

It’s a directory not a file. It appears you have no files on your unraid stick. Did windows detect any errors on your USB when you plugged it in?  Also do you have a backup?

No I did not get any notifications when I plugged the stick in. I am not sure if the os is backed up but I know the parity is. There is a good chance it was.

That sentence does not parse. At all.

If you've been running MyServers, then a backup exists.  If you haven't, then you'll need to re-setup the flash drive, and reassign the drives and talk to @SpencerJ to get the key sent to you again.  But, assuming that you didn't format the flash somehow, I wouldn't trust it.  Set up a new one

@Squid We have decided to start fresh, and that got me a new install of unraid. I have the key I am going to be working with a friend to try and recover my data tomorrow if that is possible.

Your data should be intact as long as you do not make the mistake of assigning a data drive to a parity slot.    You may find this section of the online documentation to be of use.
