September 16, 20214 yr Quick question. When I set up my server, I selected the btrfs file system. Now after the fact, I have been reading there are some issues with it and is not that great. What is the best file system to use and is there away to change it without any huge changes on my array?
September 16, 20214 yr Community Expert Unless you care about snapshots and/or checksums xfs is the best option for the typical user, to change you need to backup/move the data from each disk and re-format, it can be done one at a time.

I’m guessing that would get a little messed up?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
September 16, 20214 yr Community Expert Shouldn't need to do anything to your shares if you move the files correctly. You can get mover to take care of the moving for you similar to this FAQ:

September 16, 20214 yr Author I see it now that i'm on a computer. was in tapatalk and was confused lol
September 16, 20214 yr Author When I move files, is it best to just leave parity alone and let it write while the move is happening or turn it off to speed up the moves? I'm guessing leaving it on is best for data protection??
September 17, 20214 yr Author It's up to you: speed vs redundancy.?? Can you alternate?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
