September 21, 20214 yr So I'm moving my unraid setup to a new case, and mounting it in a rack. In this new setup, a lower profile USB unraid boot drive would be a lot better than the largish drive I'm using now. Can anybody recommend a good quality but low profile flash drive ? And what's the procedure for moving my existing setup to a new drive ? Thanks !

If you do choose a very small USB3 drive, it could have problems due to overheating. I have been using a small USB2 (Sandisk Fit) drive in my systems for many years.

September 21, 20214 yr It would be much better to move the drive to the inside of the case using a USB jack to pin motherboard port adapter. That way the drive won't get accidentally removed or broken.
