I have two Radeon RX480s installed which I use to passthrough to my VM. But sometimes, when I shut down the VM after making heavy use the video cards, the fans remain on as if it's stuck in full power mode.

 

Also, if I force shut down the VM, sometimes the video card becomes unusable until I restart the unraid server.

 

Is there a way for me to probe the video card from the GUI/terminal or using an app to either reset the video card, control the fans or let unraid take back control of the video card after the VM is shut down?

Smells like "reset bug" issue: unraid has an addon you can download from the community app to fix this.

Only reset bug fix I find is to deploy a custom kernel. Is that the recommended solution?
