[Solved] - I got a red ball - Now what?

Hello everyone, I hope someone can help me.  I am very new to the unraid world, but obviously not new to computers.  I built my unraid server based on the 5 budget recommended builds.  I have the sempron 140 CPU, with the BIOSTAR A760G M2+ motherboard.  I have 2 WD ears drives, both jumpered.  Right now I do not have access to the internet, so I am plugging directly into my server via ethernet, which is fine for the time being (im living in a extended stay suite so I use a long ethernet cord).  I built the system about a week ago and so far this is what happened.  I precleared both drives as MBR: 4k-Aligned, named sda and sdb.  they both precleared and said were okay, however i noticed that at times, the sda was going extremely slow, around the 5% mark.  However I let them finish, and it said preclear found errors, but fixed them, and preclear was done, so i didnt think anything of it.  It took about 28 hours for each one, which is believe is normal.  After this, I loaded up the //tower and it booted right up.  I assigned the drives, sda to data 1, and sdb to parity.  I started getting errors on sda.  i ran a parity sync, which again got really slow around the 5% mark, but finished.  I ran a parity check after, and this came back with no errors.  Everythign seemed to be working.  I created shares and started moving data.  I moved over a lot of data over the next few days, and was not getting any errors at all on the home page.  I started moving more data this morning, and when I came home from work, I had a red blinking ball, and 2,177 errors.  I am not sure what to do, if i did something wrong, or whats going on.  Sorry I am such a noob!  i did the smartctl thing, and I am attaching it below along with the syslog that i made.  If you need anything else or i didnt do something right, please let me know, I just appreciate the help!  I have all the data backup up so its not a big deal if I need to restart to get everything right, I just want to get this thing going.  Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me, this website and everyone on it rock! I have version 4.7 of unraid

smart.txt

The smart report on that drive shows it is failing.

5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct   0x0033   135   135   140    Pre-fail  Always   FAILING_NOW 1246

There have been 1246 sectors re-allocated, and now the disk is running out of spare sectors.

Apparently, at some point the "writes" to that drive also failed.  Once a write failed, the disk was taken out of service by unRAID. (and is why it has a "red" indicator)

It is RMA time.

There is nothing to panic about, basically, replace the drive and press "Start" and the contents will be re-constructed onto the replacement drive.

Oh thats great news, I was worried I messed something up really bad!  So RMA, is there an easy way to go about that?  I bought it on Newegg?  Was it something i did that caused the drive to go bad?

If it is within 30 days I think you can return it to newegg.  Otherwise, you need to go to the manufacturer's web-site to begin the RMA process.

I don't think it was anything you did.
