Can I control APC BVN650M1 via USB on Unraid?

I just purchased a BVN650M1 UPS and wanted to set it up via Unraid.  I have a USB 3.0 cable going from my server to the USP.  When I apply my settings it keeps saying that it Lost communication (screenshot shows this).

 

I've never setup a UPS before so I'm a little miffed on why it's not working.  Is the USB port power only?  Did i configure something wrong in settings?

    You could try setting UPS type to modbus.

    Pls use official PowerChute software to verify control/communication work on the UPS.
