Hey guys,

 

I built a 2 Gamer One 1 CPU setup, but I'm having performance issues. Unfortunately, we had to replace our mainboard because we needed more capacity and PCIE lanes. Now we have an Asus workstation mainboard.

 

Our setup now looks like this:

CPU: 10980XE @ 4.8Ghz all core @ 1.2 volt
RAM: 64GB Gskill 3000 MHz DDR4
GPUs: 1x2080ti, 1x1080ti
2 USB Addon Cards for USB Type C and A
Storage: 3x 1 TB NVME via U.2, 1x500Gb NVME M.2, 4x1TB Sata SSD, 1x2TB Sata SSD, 1x256GB Sata SSD
(the 4 Sata SSDs are in the ZFS Raid )
PSU: 1200Watt from Corsair
Costum watercooling

 

Compared to before we only had one NVME and 5 Sata SSDs less and a 1070 instead of the 1080ti. (and of course the mainboard)

The VMs basically have 50/50 of the system. But inGame we have significantly fewer frames and a kind of "stutter" compared to before. With Minecraft Modpacks that are very ram intensive we have noticeably missing frames, but it gets much worse with newer games like the Battfield 2142 Beta. We have around 30-40 FPS, which is kind of weird for the graphics cards. With New World, for example, I have to remove all settings such as "125% power" or any clocking on the graphics card.
In normal desktop operation we have no problems whatsoever.

Unfortunately, I don't know where this can come from.

 

Do you have any idea whether this could be something in Unraid?

you are not isolating your cores 

- isolate the cores you want to use for both gaming VM's, Keep the hyperthreating core pairs together!- 
- Those isolated cores, split them up again, keep the hyperthreating cores together. then PIN them to the 2 VM's

in the end you will have 3 groups of cores. 

- VM 1

- VM 2

- the rest of ur cores.

so i tested it but i can't really tell a difference to before.

I found the "dpclat" Latency Checker in some posts. So i tried it and iam getting really high results as you can see in the picture. Unfortunatly the tool doesent tell me which  latencys are bad.

 

Has anybody some idears?

 

You could try latencymon and follow these advices:

Probably irq conflicts: msi util v2/v3 can help in this.
