I screwed up, need help with Windows VM.

Featured Replies

As the title says, I screwed up and I'm hoping one of you can assist.

I'm running a Windows 10 VM on my Unraid NAS and using Google Remote Desktop to access it. I stupidly turned the kill switch on on my VPN without having it connected so it immediately cut the connection to my VM. Now I'm unable to access the VM at all.

I thought maybe I could connect a monitor directly to the NAS but from what I've read that only works with a dedicated GPU that is passed through. I'm running with just intel graphics.

Is there any hope here or do I just need to start over and setup a new VM?

Thanks

You should still be able to click on the VM icon on the dashboard and select the VNC Remote option.

You could also use any VNC client and access the VM by using serverIP:VNCPort like its stated in the gui
Each VM has its VNC port

VNC Remote is just saying "Failed to connect to server".

Where do I go to see the port number as you have in the screen shot?

I'm in.

I opened VNC Remote in Microsoft Edge rather than Google Chrome and it worked right away.
