Why is a pre-cleared formatted drive have nearly 56GB "used" and no files or folders on it?

Featured Replies

I'm trying to copy data files from an 8 TB NTFS drive, but it won't fit on the same model/size drive formatted in XFS because of 55.8GB of stuff on it - that does not show on the drive.

Thoughts?

I think the 55GB is the file system structure. Seems on par with what I see for XFS relative to your disk size.

It is possible that NTFS has less overhead.
